A chair does more than fill a space. It shapes how people sit, gather, dine and stay. At cintesi, our collection spans dining chairs, outdoor chairs, armchairs and bench seats, as well as stackable chairs and upholstered designs in a range of styles including scandinavian, mid century and coastal.
Discover our most-loved chairs, from everyday dining chairs to occasional armchairs. These customer favourites are tried-and-loved designs that have earned their place as best sellers.
The best chair starts with the environment around it. Dining chairs need to sit comfortably at the table and leave enough room for people to move. Outdoor chairs need materials suited to New Zealand’s coastal conditions, while armchairs can create a more relaxed place to sit in living rooms and bedrooms.

We offer an appro service from both our Auckland and Tauranga showrooms so that you can try our chair range in your space before committing to a purchase.
Why Material Matters
Material changes the look, feel and everyday performance of a chair.
Timber brings natural warmth and works easily across classic, Scandinavian and contemporary spaces.
Metal can create a lighter or more industrial profile.
Polypropylene offers practical, easy-care seating in a broad range of shapes and colours.
Upholstery adds softness and can make long dinner parties more comfortable for your guests.
If you are still unsure and do not live in easy reach from our Auckland or Tauranga showrooms, we also offer an online sample service for most of our range.
Planning your seating space
Proportion matters. Around a dining table, check the chair width, seat height and the space needed to pull each chair out comfortably. Arms, broad backs and heavier frames can all change how many chairs fit around the same table.
Bench seats can be useful where you want flexible communal seating or a cleaner visual line. In larger spaces, mixing dining chairs with armchairs or occasional seating can create distinct zones in a living room without making every piece match.
A helpful tip is to map the furniture footprint of your proposed chairs and consider walkways, storage and how the room changes throughout the day. A good layout should still work once people are actually sitting in it.
Frequently asked questions.
Start with where the chair will be used, how long people will sit, the available floor space and the level of maintenance required. Then compare seat height, width, materials and features such as arms, upholstery or stackability.
Timber, metal, polypropylene and selected upholstered finishes can all work for sticky hands and dirty paws. A lot of our vinyl upholstery is wipeable, with our plastic outdoor chairs being heat molded for higher durability thresholds.
Allow enough room for each person to sit and move comfortably without chairs colliding. Chair width, arms and table-leg position all affect spacing, so measure the actual products rather than relying on one fixed rule.
Often, yes. Outdoor-suitable chairs can also be practical indoors, particularly where easy cleaning, stackable or lightweight seating is useful.
While we don’t sell our dining chairs and tables as complete packages, we have a large range of dining chairs in stock so that you are able to order a complete set of 6, 8 or even 10. You can always give us a call to find out whether we have more of our chairs on back order to finish your dining space.
